BOARD OF EDUCATION APPROVES NEGOTIATED AGREEMENT WITH UNION REPRESENTING SCHOOL SYSTEM FACILITIES, FOOD SERVICE, AND TRANSPORTATION EMPLOYEES

The Board of Education today approved wage enhancements as a part of a one-year agreement with the employee bargaining unit representing school system operations, facilities, maintenance, transportation, and food service employees.

The agreement with the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees, Local 1693 (AFSCME) runs through June 30, 2019. It provides:

  • A 2.4 percent cost-of-living increase for all unit employees, retroactive to July 1, 2018.
  • A mid-year step increase for all unit employees eligible for those increases.

The Board has not yet approved agreements with any of its other three bargaining units.
