COUNTY STATE’S ATTORNEY’S OFFICE, GLEN BURNIE FITNESS & NUTRITION WIN AACPS BUSINESS PARTNER OF THE YEAR AWARDS

The Anne Arundel County State’s Attorney’s Office and Glen Burnie Fitness & Nutrition were named Anne Arundel County Public Schools Business Partners of the Year Wednesday night for their positive impact on students and the school system.

The surprise announcements came during the 32nd annual Excellence in Education Awards, presented annually in partnership by Anne Arundel County Public Schools and the Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce. A dozen businesses and community groups were honored at the event, along with 48 public and private school teachers.

The State’s Attorney’s Office took home the honor of Business Partner of the Year for organizations with more than 50 employees for its work with schools across the county, but particularly Northeast High School. The office played an integral part in the development of the school’s “Haunted House of Addictions,” an awareness campaign highly praised by students, staff, parents, and the community for its transparency, relatability, and heart-wrenching impact.

Glen Burnie Fitness & Nutrition won in the category of business partners with fewer than 50 employees. The company has worked closely with Glendale Elementary School to sponsor the HERO Boys Running Club, which has operated for the past four years. The programs delivers motivational messages of empowerment and aims to enhance the self-esteem and self-worth of students. It also provides healthy snacks for participants.
