ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS HOSTING FIRST EVER KIDS AT HOPE MASTERS SEMINAR

Anne Arundel County Public Schools, the Annapolis Youth Services Bureau, the Chesapeake Children’s Museum, and Kids at Hope of Herndon, Va., are teaming up to host the inaugural Mid-Atlantic Kids at Hope Masters Seminar to empower and inspire over 50 youth and community leaders to expand implementation of the Kids at Hope philosophy throughout Anne Arundel County.

The seminar, which runs from April 3-5, will feature State Superintendent of Schools Dr. Lillian Lowery, AACPS Superintendent Dr. Kevin Maxwell, Annapolis Mayor Josh Cohen, Kids at Hope Founder and President Rick Miller, and Annapolis musician, artist, and teacher Rob Levit. Participants will explore practices important to the success of all children through the latest concepts of the Kids at Hope cultural framework for use in schools and community organizations. They will also be able to visit AACPS schools that employ the Kids at Hope philosophy: “All children are capable of success. No exceptions.”

Currently, ten AACPS schools have been designated as Kids at Hope schools. The framework shows schools and other organizations how a single belief system can be implemented to support the success of all children.
