MOST HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS NOT TAKING HSA EXAMS REPORT TO SCHOOL THREE HOURS LATE ON MAY 23-24

As has been the practice for several years, all county high schools as well as the Phoenix Academy and Mary Moss @ J. Albert Adams Academy will administer High School Assessment exams in Biology or Government to students currently enrolled in those courses. The Government HSA will be given on May 23, 2016, and the Biology HSA will be given on May 24, 2016.

Buses will make duplicate runs to ensure all bus riders have transportation to school. High school students not taking HSA exams who ride buses should be at their bus stops 3 hours and 15 minutes later than normal on these days.

The following special conditions apply:

  • Students taking the assessments will report to their schools at the normal time on the day of the assessment they are taking.
  • Students who are not taking the assessments, including high school seniors, will report to school 3 hours and 15 minutes later than normal on May 23 and 24.
  • There will be no second bus run for any student who receives transportation services to a high school outside of their home attendance area (including those at Phoenix Academy and Mary Moss @ J. Albert Adams Academy). Such students should report to their bus stops and to school at the normal time on both days.
  • Chesapeake Science Point students should contact their school for transportation arrangements.

Middle school and elementary school students will report to school as normal on both days.

All schools will dismiss at normal times on May 23 and 24, with single bus runs to normal stops.
