BOARD OF EDUCATION TO SET STAGE FOR COMING YEAR AT SUMMER RETREAT

The Board of Education will hold a retreat next week to identify its strengths, discuss its role as a governance team, review the Board Handbook and the major work ahead in the coming year, and take part in a literacy outreach effort.

After working through the bulk of its agenda, the Board will take part in finishing and stocking a pair of Little Free Library units. The units are small structures that can be placed anywhere and are intended to be stocked with books that anyone can pick up. Those who take books are encouraged to replace them with another book to share. More information on the Little Free Library program can be found at www.littlefreelibrary.org.

The retreat will run from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 15, in the media center at Annapolis Elementary School, located at 180 Green Street in Annapolis. It is open to the public, but no public comment will be accepted.
