The Board of Education today appointed 12 county residents to two-year terms on the Executive Panel of the countywide Citizen Advisory Committee (CAC), a 30-member panel that advises the Board on issues affecting the school system.
The vacancies filled by today’s appointments came about through resignations or the expiration of terms of former representatives. The panel consists of:
- Two members from each high school cluster, one representing elementary schools and one representing secondary schools
- Two at-large county-wide representatives
- One at-large member designated by the President of the Anne Arundel County Council of PTAs to represent its interests
- One at-large member designated by the Special Education Citizen Advisory Committee to represent special education interests across the county
- One at-large member designated by the Chairperson of the Parent Involvement Advisory Council to represent its interests across the county
- One military representative
Appointed to two-year terms today were:
- Melonie Teichert, Arundel cluster, representing secondary schools
- Eris Ashley, Chesapeake cluster, representing elementary schools
- Lois Warner, Chesapeake cluster, representing secondary schools
- Serri Howard, Glen Burnie cluster, representing elementary schools
- Greg Novak, Glen Burnie cluster, representing secondary schools
- Chekesha Duncan, Meade cluster, representing secondary schools
- Christopher Wallace, Northeast cluster, representing elementary schools
- Anne Burba, Old Mill cluster, representing elementary schools
- Beth Nolan, Severna Park cluster, representing secondary schools
- Kelly Purnell, South River cluster, representing elementary schools
- Pamela Murray, South River cluster, representing secondary schools
- Edwin Rodriguez, Military Representative

ETHICS PANEL
The Board today also reappointed two people to three-year terms on its Ethics Panel. Jaqueline Boone Allsup, a retired nurse and former president of the Anne Arundel County chapter of the NAACP, and Charles Jeffries, a business owner and community activist, were appointed to terms that will expire on June 30, 2018.
The Ethics Panel consists of five members appointed by the Board. Its duties include devising, receiving, and maintaining all ethics forms generated by school system regulations; providing advisory opinions on ethics matters; making determinations as to complaints filed by any person alleging violations of regulations; referring findings regarding complaints and other enforcement matters to the Board for action; and conducting an information program regarding the purposes and application of regulations.
