FAMILY INVOLVEMENT CONFERENCE TO FOCUS ON ELEVATING ALL STUDENTS, ELIMINATING ALL GAPS

Anne Arundel County Public Schools’ Office of School & Family Partnerships, in collaboration with the school system’s AVID program, is sponsoring a Family Involvement Conference on Tuesday, March 24, 2015. The conference will be held from 9 a.m. to noon at Abundant Life Church, located at 7305 E. Furnace Branch Road in Glen Burnie.

The theme of this spring’s conference is “Together We Can!: Elevate All Students, Eliminate All Gaps.” Superintendent George Arlotto will join participants for breakfast and speak at the beginning of the event. Frank Kros, president of the Upside Down Organization, will deliver the keynote address, titled “Change Your Language, Change Their Lives.”

The keynote address will be followed by breakout discussion groups, which will give parents and community members a chance to reflect on the message of the keynote and share their thoughts with each other.

Registration is free and the conference is open to the public. Continental breakfast will be provided.
