61 ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS TEACHERS ATTAIN PRESTIGIOUS NATIONAL BOARD CERTIFICATION

This year, 61 Anne Arundel County Public Schools (AACPS) educators are among an elite group nationwide to achieve National Board Certified (NBC) status, the highest teaching credential in the nation administered by the National Board of Professional Teaching Standards.

Forty-three of the county’s class of 2014 achieved certification for the first time and 18 earned their second certifications, renewing their original certifications after 10 years. AACPS now boasts 434 NBC teachers who completed the rigorous assessments with the assistance of a professional development program offered by the school system. Of that number, 393 are currently working in AACPS.
