ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS PROVIDING FREE ACCESS TO MICROSOFT OFFICE PRODUCTS FOR ALL STUDENTS

Superintendent of Schools George Arlotto today announced a major technological advancement for the school system’s nearly 80,000 students: free Microsoft Office access for as long as they are enrolled in a county school.

As a participant in Microsoft’s Student Advantage program, Anne Arundel County Public Schools is now offering every student Office ProPlus (a full version of the Microsoft Office suite) for use on their own personal devices at no cost.

“If we are to live up to our vision of developing students who have the skills to excel in the ever-changing workforce they will one day enter, we must provide them with the tools necessary to do so,” Dr. Arlotto said. “I am thrilled that we have been able to seize this opportunity through Microsoft. Our Technology Division personnel have worked very hard in recent months to make this a reality for all of our students, and I urge every parent to take advantage of it.”

The program comes at no cost to the school system. Office ProPlus can be installed on up to five compatible PCs, Macs, or tablets (including iPad).  The Office ProPlus subscription will be active as long as the child is a student in AACPS.

To access Office ProPlus for their children, parents can click here or on the icon on the front page of AACPS’ website. Parents will need their child’s student identification number and password to download and install the software.
