OFFICE OF EQUITY AND ACCELERATED STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT TO HOST COMMUNITY OPEN HOUSE AT ANNAPOLIS ELEMENTARY

In order to strengthen existing partnerships and provide avenues to create new ones, Anne Arundel County Public Schools’ Office of Equity and Accelerated Student Achievement will host a community open house next week.

The event, which will run from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on October 21, 2014, at Annapolis Elementary School, is designed to provide information about the ways the office is collaborating with administrators and teachers to develop effective, culturally responsive instruction; support families; and form positive partnerships with various community organizations.

“If we are to achieve our collective goal – to Elevate All Students and Eliminate All Gaps – the partnership of those in communities around the county is essential,” said Anthony Alston, executive director of the office. “Every resident of our county can help our children in some way, and our team is looking forward to talking about the ways we can work together to make that happen.”

Members of the office will be on hand to discuss about initiatives now in place and those planned for the future, as well as answer questions.

Light refreshments will be provided.
