STUDENTS, BUSINESSES TO CONNECT AT SIXTH ANNUAL AACPS CAREER EXPO

The 21st Century Education Foundation, in partnership with Anne Arundel Community College, is sponsoring its sixth annual Career Expo on March 9, 2013.  The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Jenkins Gymnasium on the college’s Arnold campus.

The Expo gives middle and high school students the opportunity to meet and talk with representatives from a variety of local businesses about the many career opportunities available, as well as learn about related courses that they can take to pursue specific career paths.

The free event is being sponsored for the second year by Jacobs Engineering Group, Inc. Other businesses participating are BGE, Defense Information Systems Agency, BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport, and the Anne Arundel County police and fire departments.

Anne Arundel Community College advisors from a variety of departments will be available to talk with students about ways to prepare for their futures now as well as accessing the many opportunities available through the college.

Workshops with information about applying for college, preparing for success in college, getting a security clearance, and working in the public sector will also be offered at the Expo.
