Citizen Advisory Committee (CAC) Executive Committee provides advice to the Board of Education on specific issues impacting educational policy, activities, and programs. It is composed of representatives from each cluster, along with representatives from other groups.
The Weekend Food Program is a partnership between interested schools and local community organizations and/or faith-based groups that provides weekly bags or backpacks of easy-to-prepare food for students who are food-insecure on the weekends.
Mids for Kids is a community outreach program, which is part of the Midshipmen Action Group, at the United States Naval Academy. Currently there are more than 10 AACPS schools participating in the Mids for Kids program. Midshipmen visit their school and support students by tutoring, mentoring, or guest reading.
The Back to School Program is a collaborative partnership between AACPS and the Anne Arundel County Department of Social Services, which recruits community organizations and community members to provide backpacks and school supplies for needy elementary students, as well as funds for school supplies for needy middle school students. Last year the program provided backpacks and school supplies for over 5000 students.
The 21st Century Education Foundation is a non-profit organization created to promote partnerships that match the needs of AACPS with the financial resources of surrounding businesses, industries, and communities.
Community Foundation of Anne Arundel County is a charitable organization, supported by local donors, dedicated to support the people and non-profit organizations of Anne Arundel County. The Community Foundation has supported the students and schools in AACPS in a variety of ways, including providing funds for the Weekend Food Program, and the Grants 4 Teachers program, among others.
