Anne Arundel County Public Library is launching an exciting new program to help children throughout the county be ready for kindergarten and to promote family bonding through reading.
1000 Books Before Kindergarten is simple – just have read 1000 books with your child before they go to kindergarten. It doesn’t matter if you read 1000 different books, or the same book 1000 times. You can also read any kind of book you want – whether it’s a physical book, an audiobook, or even an eBook! Books that other people, such as a teacher, babysitter, or even a librarian, read to your child count, too. What matters is that your child is experiencing books before they even go to school.
