Excellence in Education Teacher of the Year Awards
Each year, the Excellence in Education Teacher of the Year Award honors an outstanding teacher in Anne Arundel County Public Schools. Nominations were due on Thursday, November 3, 2016.
Excellence in Education Business Partnership Award
The Excellence in Education Banquet will honor local businesses that have forged critical partnerships with schools across the county, directly benefitting AACPS’ 81,000 students. Nominations for Business Partner of the Year will be accepted this winter.
Washington Post Awards
Congratulations to Meade High School Principal John Yore, the AACPS Washington Post Principal of the Year and Chesapeake High School Spanish Teacher Carol Bak, the Washington Post Teacher of the Year. Mr. Yore and Ms. Bak will represent Anne Arundel County Public Schools in the state-wide competition.
The Washington Post Education Foundation established the Teacher of the Year Award and Principal of the Year Award to recognize educators who exemplify excellence in their profession. (In the past, these awards have been referred to as the Agnes Meyer Principal of the Year and the Distinguished Educational Leadership Award, respectively).
