10 Grants for High School Educators:

The National Society of High School Scholars provides resources to assist educators in their efforts to educate and encourage students to excel academically. The organization currently has 10 grant programs open with funds ranging from $250-$5,000. Deadlines vary by programming being applied to. See below for individual grant program details.

  • NSHSS Educational Conference Registration Grant: These $500 grants may be used during 2019 to help defray costs of educational conference registration, travel, and accommodations. High school teachers and counselors currently employed at a public or private high school are eligible to apply. Deadline for submission is in March.
  • NSHSS Higher Education Degree Grant: The $2,500 awards help with the costs of tuition and course-related expenses for teachers and counselors who are enrolling in university courses in summer, fall, or spring. Applicants must be Claes Nobel Educators of Distinction currently employed in a public or private high school. Deadline is in March.
  • Claes Nobel Educators of the Year: These awards of $1,000 and $5,000 recognize current Claes Nobel Educators of Distinction. Deadline for submission is in April. • NSHSS NACAC Conference Registration Grants: Funding available to enable NACAC members to attend the NACAC Annual Conference in September. Deadline to apply is in April.
  • NSHSS Innovation Educator Grants: These $500 grants recognize educators who are leading innovators in their field. Any high school teacher currently employed at a public or private high school is eligible to apply. Deadline is in May.
  • NSHSS Outstanding Home School Educator Grants: The $250 awards recognize educators who are dedicated to improving the virtual educational experience for students and educators. Eligibility is open to educators who advance distance and online, digital learning for students educated in the home. Deadline to apply is in July.
  • NSHSS AP Teacher Grants: These $500 grants support Advanced Placement instruction in any subject. Open to any high school teacher or counselor currently employed at a public or private high school. Deadline is in October.
  • NSHSS STEAM Educator Grants: These $1,000 awards are used to enhance STEAM related activities, innovation, and classroom excellence for teachers in a STEAM field. Open to high school STEAM teachers. The deadline to apply is in October.
  • NSHSS IB Teacher Grants: The $500 grants support teachers in International Baccalaureate programs. Eligibility is open to any secondary school educator teaching an International Baccalaureate Diploma course in any field. Deadline is in November.
  • NSHSS-DECA Chapter Advisor Grants: These $1,000 awards recognize the outstanding contributions of DECA advisors who consistently demonstrate their commitment to preparing students for success in college and in life. Active DECA Advisors currently offering direct instruction at a public or private school are eligible to apply. The deadline is in January.
