I am an AACPS: Parent, Windsor Farm Elementary School | Volunteer

My daughter Lily, like many children, didn’t equate math as her favorite subject. She’s an excellent student but has struggled to the point of tears with math for many years. This year she has had the incredible opportunity to be placed in Mrs. Kimberly Ballieul’s math class.  Mrs. Baillieul has not only transformed my Lily to now love math, she has empowered Lily and made math fun.

Math is something Lily now looks forward to every day and Lily adores Mrs. Baillieul. Mrs. Baillieul encourages her students with a no nonsense attitude to make them engaged in a very positive hands on atmosphere. Being a parent herself to a fourth grader and a second grader, she gets these children in a way that really makes them feel comfortable. She’s the math lead at our school and a stellar teacher. She’s made an impact in our lives in that she completely revamped Lily’s confidence level in math and given her building blocks for the future. She is Lily’s favorite teacher and Lily has told me on more than one occasion that she loves her! I am amazed at her tenacity and enthusiasm for her students while raising two young children who are AACPS students. Mrs. Baillieul is a remarkable teacher who impacts each student who’s lucky enough to be placed in her class! Her approach to a subject that can be challenging for students and parents alike as we move forward with the Common Core curriculum is refreshing. She’s thorough and very communicative with us parents. She’s Lily’s favorite teacher to date and I will be forever grateful for the transition she’s fostered in my child who now can’t wait to get to math class.
