Community Connections

To support the needs and achievement of all students, the School & Family Partnerships office actively encourages and supports partnerships between community groups and schools. Some of our current partnerships are listed below. For more information on these partnerships, or to find out how your community group can support our students, contact Teresa Tudor, Senior Manager.

  • Apply to become a member of the Citizen Advisory Committee (CAC) Executive Committee.
  • Learn more about the Weekend Food Program, a partnership between interested schools and local community organizations and/or faith-based groups that provides weekly bags or backpacks of easy-to-prepare food for students who are food-insecure on the weekends.
  • Contribute to the Back to School Program, a collaborative partnership between AACPS and the Anne Arundel County Department of Social Services.
  • Support the Community Foundation of Anne Arundel County, a charitable organization, supported by local donors, dedicated to support the people and non-profit organizations of Anne Arundel County. The Community Foundation has supported the students and schools in AACPS in a variety of ways, including providing funds for the Weekend Food Program, and the Grants 4 Teachers program, among others.
  • Learn about Mids for Kids, a community outreach program which is part of the Midshipmen Action Group at the United States Naval Academy. Currently there are more than 10 AACPS schools participating in the Mids for Kids program. Midshipmen visit their school and support students by tutoring, mentoring, or guest reading.
