Important Information Regarding the Magnet Lottery

The lottery for the Magnet Programs (applications 2016 for entry 2017-2018) has been completed, and all 5th and 8th grade on-time applicants were notified on March 17, 2017.
All applicants were contacted on February 17, 2017 and informed if they were Eligible or Ineligible for their selected Magnet Program.
Applicants who are Ineligible had 10 days to appeal their status to firstname.lastname@example.org. All appeals have been addressed.
Lottery results will be revealed and seat/wait-list offers were sent on March 17, 2017. As a reminder, the lottery is conducted by a third party and is unweighted or marked in any way. Once applications are eligible, all enter lottery with the same chance for results. This way is the only equitable way to provide an equal chance for all eligible applicants.
For lottery results, click the LOTTERY link on the blue toolbar, above. The waitlist will be updated with regular frequency from March 17 throughout the summer.
The on-time 2016-2017 Magnet Application opened on September 30 and closed at NOON on November 30. Applications are only considered from residents of Anne Arundel County. Applications are accepted from 5th and 8th grade students interested in attending a Magnet Program in 2017-2018 or from current 10th grade applicants interested in attending IB DP. Fall applications (2017) for entry school year 2018-2019 will open October 16, 2017 and close at noon on November 30, 2017. Information sessions for fall will be October 4, 2017 (6 PM) at Annapolis High and October 14, 2017 (9 AM) at North County High.
Applications for the CAT Centers opened on October 1, 2016 and closed March 15, 2017. For more information on CAT-North or CAT-South, please visit their webpages. Fall applications 2017 (for entry 2018-2019) will open October 16, 2017 and close March 15, 2018.
